Are All the Preachers and Healers Really Sent by God?

Let us know that not all the healing and different miraculous works in the name of the Lord entail that the ones who do such are sent by God. This isn’t considered a credential of God’s sent one or the true preacher. For according to the Holy Scripture, our Lord Jesus says that there are individuals who preach and do great things in His name. But Matthew 7:21-23 states that:

“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Notice that they cast out evil spirits and in the Lord’s name did powerful works. What did the Lord tell them? Expressed in verse 23,

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

The sent ones of God have powerful works. Like what Paul said, he isn’t different from the other apostles. And God confirmed his apostleship through powerful works. Stated in 2 Corinthians 12:12 –

“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you, in all patience, in signs, and wonders and mighty deeds.”

God’s mighty deeds prevail with his apostles; however, not all those who claim that they do the mighty deeds of God are of God like what was revealed in Matthew 7:21-23.

What sign may allow us to know who the real preacher is? What is the particular indication that cannot be duplicated or mistaken? The Bible teaches us as to who are the ones we must accept and the ones we must not.

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

– 2 John 1: 9-11

Therefore, the real gauge of the authenticity of one’s being a sent one of God is if the doctrine he brings is the doctrine of Christ. This is the gospel revealed to him by God though the Holy Scripture. So if he does wonders of healing yet his doctrine opposes the Bible, he must be rejected.
